COVID-19 Update and Care Options

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I am also offering Virtual Doula Care for families birthing in hospitals with restrictive visitor policies. Contact me to learn more and for a no obligation interview.

I remain committed to making doula care accessible to as many families as possible, and I acknowledge that the pandemic is causing many to experience financial hardship and uncertainty. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for an interview if you need a sliding scale and/or payment plan for doula services. We can talk through these options and move forward with a rate that assures that you can receive high quality doula care at a rate that works for your family.

Birth Doula Services Include:

  • Free consultation
  • 2-3 Prenatal visits in your home or with your medical care provider
  • 24 hour on-call labor support beginning when I am hired
  • Full labor support including early labor in your home, full support at home, hospital, or birthing center
  • Continued support for up to three hours after the birth to help establish parent/infant bonding, breastfeeding encouragement and assistance
  • Two postpartum meetings to process the birth experience, support healthy parent/infant relationship building, offer breastfeeding support, and assess the need for any further services and/or referrals
  • Optional photography of labor, birth, and postpartum at no additional charge

My postpartum care centers on creating more ease and less stress in the fourth trimester. This looks different for every family and is customizable to your needs. Many families choose to book my postpartum services before giving birth. Others find  themselves deep into their first days and weeks with their new baby and sense that more support would help with the unexpected challenges that they are experiencing.

Postpartum Services Include:

  • Emotional encouragement and support with non-judgemental listening
  • New parent comfort measures
  • Breastfeeding encouragement and support
  • Education on safe baby care practices: babywearing, bathing, safe sleep, etc.
  • Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian, Whole Foods, Comfort Foods, Special Diet Meal Preparation
  • Care and nurturing for infant and/or older children
  • Light housework (laundry, etc.)
  • Overnight care to support healthy sleep for your whole family

I offer a steady, encouraging presence, and a deep appreciation for the physical, emotional, and spiritual work that all kinds of births entail. I bring my knowledge and experience with many birthing and postpartum families over nearly a decade, and help you and your loved ones have a positive birth and postpartum experience as you define it.

As your doula, I help to create a safe, supportive environment, so that you can focus on the very important job of birthing, feeding, loving, and caring for your new baby in whichever way feels empowering for you. I am happy to work with you to provide the unique care that you and your family need.
